Evergreen Community Power Plant

The Evergreen Community Power Plant (ECP) is an example of a highly complex, industrial electrical contracting job handled by MBR Construction Services, an IBEW Local 743 signatory contractor (to idenitfy the contractor who is the right fit for your job, please visit our contractors directory). ECP is a biofuel power plant established in Reading , PA that converts clean waste products to generate power to the surrounding community. The waste products recycled range from "clean garbage" to any biodegradable refuse - all turned  it into  fuel.

In one of the the photos above - 2 IBEW electricians safely apply a "heat blanket" around a fitters pipe in order to preheat it to a specific temperature for welding.

Located in Reading’s business district, the ECP plant stands in full view of downtown offices and residences. The plant uses leading-edge air pollution control equipment to minimize emissions and provide a clean source of renewable energy. By offsetting fossil-fuel fired power for the adjacent corrugated box board plant, ECP contributes to an improved quality of life in the community as well as reduced operating costs for United Corrstack.
