IBEW Local 743 members judge SkillsUSA competition

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and the construction industry working together in order to ensure the America has a skilled workforce. Members and staff of IBEW Local 743 donated their time and expertise in order to judge high school and secondary education students as they performed work in the electrical industry category.

SkilsUSA breaks barriers between traditional higher education and the skilled workforce by exposing students to the industries that aren’t talked necessarily talked about.

This event creates great exposure for not only IBEW 743, but also the electrical industry and union, in general.  It also help with recruitment as well as assuring future electricians are performing electrical work to IBEW standards.
